For one weekend each year, the Detroit Renaissance Center serves as home to one of the largest Tattoo Conventions in the country.
Since its humble beginnings in 1996, the Motor City Tattoo Expo has evolved into a significant annual event for the tattoo community. This year marks their 30th Anniversary. The show continues to expand and improve each year, and this year is no different.
For 2026, they have assembled an impressive lineup of talented artists from around the globe. The Motor City Tattoo Expo hosts over 300 national and international tattoo artists.

The Detroit Motor City Tattoo Expo is considered one of the most sought-after shows by artists worldwide, often featuring top-tier artists from the industry. The event has maintained a consistent presence in Detroit for over three decades, evolving into a major, long-running tattoo community gathering. While considered a "small" show by some, it is known for its intimate, high-quality, and loyal artist community.
On Saturday evening, there will be a exclusive screening of "30 years of INK : Stories from the Motor City Tattoo Expo" a film by Pam Fisher, on the main stage.

From more modern contemporary tattooing to classic traditional, Japanese, and black and grey, the Motor City Tattoo Expo brings diversity and talent for every tattoo lover and art enthusiast alike.
Wether you were there to get tattooed by renowned artists or just check out the scene, there was something for everyone at this incredible display of tattoo prowess making those seeking new body art and entertainment all the more accessible. Each aisle and every corner were filled with things to see and art to admire, not a dull moment or spectacle at this years legendary Detroit event.
The 30th Annual Motor City Tattoo Expo takes place March 6–8, 2026, at the GM Renaissance Center in Detroit.
Featuring top artists and suppliers, this landmark event celebrates 30 years with awards, including trophies created by Workhorse Irons, and showcases artists like Renzo and Alexander Osorio.
