Highlights from Hangzhou, China Tattoo Convention 2025

It is no doubt tattooing has become more and more popular over the last few decades with multiple studios and artists appearing all over the world. Alongside these studios and artists comes tattoo conventions! Some of which have been around for decades while others only a

few years. Nonetheless, these shows help to keep the legendary tradition of tattooing alive and well across the globe!

One of the more prominent, longstanding tattoos conventions in the Eastern part of the world would be none other than the China Tattoo Convention which has just held its 19th edition in November 2025 in the city of Hangzhou, the capital of the Zhejiang province in China. This legendary convention (previously held in Langfang) is the longest running tattoo event in China and considered one of the most influential in the region as well! This convention is a staple in the tattoo industry for not only artists to showcase their work, but for enthusiasts, suppliers, and more to network and show off the latest and greatest in the tattooing industry!

The China Tattoo Convention is a showcase of artists far and wide, many artists travel from

different parts of the world to be featured at this prestigious event! It is with no surprise that

immense talent and masterwork tattoos can be seen in person at every corner. Many of the

talented local artists take the opportunity to have not only pictures of their portfolio, but also

have their clients on display to show off their healed sleeves, backpieces, and bodysuits live in the flesh! Spectators gather all around these live models to truly take in the craftsmanship that goes into these large scale works like a famous art piece in a museum. Truly a spectacle for tattooers and enthusiasts alike to experience.

With awe inspiring tattoos and talented artists of course comes a fundamental feature for all

tattoo conventions; Contests. Every tattoo convention globally has hundreds of tattoo artists

throwing their hats in the ring with the chance of winning a contest or 2, and the competition is no more cutthroat and demanding than at the China Tattoo Convention. A massive stage area houses a judging panel of renowned artists and clearly displays the incredible works up for competition, multiple projector screens broadcast the works up

close for all to see all over the convention hall.

While Asian-Style work is most common at this event, the show also manages to include many other styles and categories such as western black and grey, black work, oldschool, newschool, realistic, and more! This variety not only brings diversity in the art showcase, but also allows for artists from around the globe to compete who may or may not specialize in something like Asian tattooing. Some of the international talent include names such as Celia Krigare from Spain, Jcrab from Australia, Saltanat Kuanova from Kazakhstan, and of course the special guest judging at the show, Gods of Ink’s own Miki Vialetto from Italy! From the initial roster alone, it goes without saying there was no shortage of talent and remarkable artistry at this year’s edition of the China Tattoo Convention.

come into fruition and continue to evolve to change the tattooing industry for the better! The ever-evolving trade sees new technologies, techniques, and rapid development to make

tattooing safe, fresh, and better than ever before!

The China Tattoo Convention hosts some of the largest distributors of tattooing and piercing in the world! With a rapidly evolving technology scene, many of these Chinese distributors are bringing the latest and greatest in machines, cartridges, inks, supply, and more! Household names such as FYT, Cheyenne, and Eternal Ink bring their best alongside the many other international distributors showing off machines and inks and even have fake skin set-ups for artists to try them out themselves live! The presence of over 20 supply vendors makes for an excellent way for artists and distributors alike to network their brand and continue to make tattooing safe, modern, and as prominent as possible!

The 19th edition of the China Tattoo Convention continues to deliver with the biggest names, cut-throat competition, and latest and greatest in tattooing technology this industry has ever seen! Truly a must see event for tattooers and enthusiasts alike, as well as those who have never had a chance to experience the tattoo scene in China!
