NIX Toronto Tattoo Show 2026: One of Canada's largest tattoo events returns for it's 26th edition

The NIX Toronto Tattoo Convention has always been a staple for the great city of Toronto as well as the tattoo scene itself both locally in Canada as well as internationally as artists from around the globe travel to attend every year! May 2026 marks the 26th edition of this great Canadian festival, a legacy that continues to hold on strong and deliver one of the best tattoo shows the Great White North has to offer.

The NIX Toronto Tattoo Show, which had it's debut in 1998, has always been a long standing, legendary tattoo event featuring international talent and house hold names throughout its lifetime such as Paul Booth, Andrea Afferni, and even the late Jack Rudy. The Toronto Tattoo Show has never been strangers to hosting immense talent, and that tradition continues to thrive at this years 2026 edition. Renowned artists from near and far once again fill the Metro Toronto Tattoo Center with great tattooing and good vibes.
Despite the early dates this year, NIX was still packed with locals and tourists checking out the many great and talented artists, entertainment, and vendors attending this years show. NIX has always been one of Toronto's premiere events that brings thousands of visitors every year, and 2026 was no different. Year after year, The Toronto Tattoo Show never fails to bring the community together and keep tattoo culture alive and well in Toronto!
As with most conventions, contests were front and center with many artists throwing their hat in the ring to compete at a chance to win some of the over $10,000 prizes and rewards given away to only the best tattoos in cutthroat competition. Some of the most notable winners of this years showcase include; Michael Cloutier (@cloutiermichael) and Luka Lajoie (@lukalajoie) for Tattoo of the show, Mint Tattooist (@mint.vivid) for best medium colour, Laure Conzales (@fleur.tattoos) for best ornamental, Andy Noir (@andynoirtattoo) for 2nd best of show, and Ossian Staraj (@ossianstarajtattoo) for best arm sleeve!
Apart from the many talented live tattooing, attendees and artists alike may find themselves checking out some of the insightful and captivating seminars to learn more from some of the international greats in modern tattooing. Seminars this year were celebrated for their diversity, giving many oppurtunity for artists to learn more about their specific niches and interests!
For those seeking insight and tips in realism tattooing, Andrea Afferni's seminar featured live tattooing from one of the most talented artists hailing from Milan, Italy. For needle and machine application techniques, Chinese tattooer Heng Yue's Seminar focused on multiple styles through your individual techniques and habits. Technical application aside, artists and attendees could also learn more about the powerful impact symbols and their meanings/history could have in tattooing from tattoo veteran Matthew Ellis. Modern laser tattoo removal has also been making strides in the tattoo industry of which attendees could learn more about laser removal fundamentals and technology from laser technician/tattooist Billy Decola. Lastly, suistanability in tattooing is starting to become more important than ever. Good Judy Tattoo Supply delivers an informative seminar on the important of eco friendly materials for the future of the tattoo industry!
The diversity and information these seminars bring ensure that tattoo artists are not only delivering exceptional artwork, but also can learn more on how to improve on their tattooing and continue to learn and adapt in this ever-fluxing industry!
Entertainment was in full swing this year as well! NIX has always welcomed local talent to perform and amaze the public and artists alike. From stilt walkers to burlesque, this spark has always transformed NIX from a not just a tattoo show, but a bright festival for attendees of all sorts to have something to enjoy and watch in awe! Some notable acts this year include mentalist/mind reader Mysterion and Hala on Stilts performing thematic stilt walking around the aisles of live tattooing!
Another spectacle NIX presents every edition in recent years is the Dead Things Art Show! 2026 marks the 12th year of what is known as Canada's deadliest art event of which select artists are given creative freedom to create a one-of-a-kind art piece with a real animal skull provided by organizers Keith Winterbottom and Sara Summertop! Every year these pieces are available for everyone to check out and all projects are auctioned off to the highest bidders! Proceeds are often donated, this year they went towards Canadian tattoo pioneer Ned Burwell to help him with the publishing of his new book on tattoo history!
From competitions to stilt-walking, burlesque to dead things, NIX Toronto Tattoo Show is without a doubt one of Canada's premiere and unique tattoo conventions! The 26th edition of NIX delivers on maintaining respect for tattoo history and culture while also welcoming modern ideas and unique entertaintment to create a welcoming spectacle for all to enjoy!
