Our series of 10 questions with tattoo artists where we like to pay tribute to beloved tattoo veterans of our trade. Many old friends and some new ones! Thank you Mr Winterbottom for letting TattooNews catch up with you!

Keith is the owner of the Winterbottom Tattoo Company (located in Dwight, Ontario, Canada). Keith and his wife Sarah Summertop are also the organizers of the Dead Things Art Show, known as Canada’s longest running tattoo culture art and charity show.
Celebrating 12 years, the 2026 edition of the Dead Things Art Show silent auction proceeds will benefit and support the Tattooer Relief Fund.
1- How old were you when you got your first tattoo? Where did you get tattooed and who did it?
I was 14 years old when I gave myself my first tattoo, and 16 years old for my first real tattoo which was the cover-up by an artist named Yob.
2- Did you have an apprenticeship? If yes, by whom and where? How long was it?
Yes, I properly obtained an apprenticeship, Donny Day owner of Rising Son’s located in Barrie for a full year.
3- Your tattoos are rad! What are the top 3 things you like to tattoo?
My top three that I like to design/tattoo would be Skulls, Biomech, realistic nature
4- Do you like travelling and tattooing? Which conventions, guest spots were your favorites?
We have travelled for well over 2 decades. The OG Halifax Tattoo Show &
NFLD St. Johns, Art Tattoo Montreal, NIX,,, many guests spots, hard to pick favs!
5- Tattoo pilgrimages, have you ever travelled to get tattooed or have been tattooed at a convention? How far have you gone to get tattooed? Who are some of the people you have collected from?
I travelled and worked conventions and got tattooed by the attending artists!
All over Canada from east to west. Lyle Tuttle, Sailor Jerry, Larry Brogan, Jamie Mac Kay, I am a collector and have numerous amounts of artists and continue to add, I’m multiple layers deep LOL!
6- What was your last tattoo? Do you get still get tattooed?
Yes, alway! I forever will be tattooed, most recent was my Ozzy knuckles, artist was my long time friend Scott Duncan from Sugar shack
7- One of your favorite machines, current or past?
My favourite machine/builders : Aaron Cain, Jesse Young
8- Where can we see and get tattooed by you this year? (Shop, guest spot, convention, etc.)
2026 is still in the works! So many conventions that we love!

9- Other than tattooing is there any other type of art you like to do? Do you have merchandise for sale and where can we purchase it?
I custom paint on various different mediums, sculptures, knives, skulls..
I usually just post on my social and display at our studio
Always have one of a kind pieces up for grabs!
10- What are your interests outside of tattooing?
I love being in nature, avid fisherman, camping, winter sports, snowmobiling, ice fishing.
Organizing our art show/auction Dead Things for 12 years showcasing the talents of tattooers utilizing skulls and creating incredible collector art pieces.
Benefiting and in support of The Tattooer Relief Fund.
